Recommendation Roundup: Winter Blues Busters

Hello, loves! Let’s be honest: this winter has been too cold. Even the southern states, where winter is usually mild, have been having crazy cold weather! I don’t know about you, but these winter blues have been getting me down. I’ve put together a list of things to do when it’s just too plain icky to leave the house!

1. CREATE! I love crafting. However, when it’s completely gross outside, I’m not going to spend my day off fighting wind and snow or freezing rain so I can make something (this is a testament to how much I dislike the cold, because some of my favorite places in the universe are craft stores.) So, I just make things with what I have at home. Use old magazines to make something amazing. Write letters to your friends and drop them in the mail on the way to work. Make paper crafts inspired by Minieco. Just have fun!

2. COLOR! Don’t act like you don’t like to color. I don’t care how old you are. Everyone can appreciate a good box of crayons or colored pencils. If you want some coloring pages that don’t look like they came out of a five year old’s library collection, check out Made By Joel. He also has some cool paper toys you can make that you totally don’t have to be a kid to enjoy.

3. LEARN SOMETHING NEW! If you can’t tell, when I’m bored, I usually look for out of the box ways to have fun. The other day, I ordered a ukulele beginner’s kit. I know how to play multiple instruments, but I’ve never played anything with a fret board before. You don’t have to do something quite so time consuming, though. Watch a documentary. Spend the day looking up ancient civilizations. Watch educational YouTube videos. Then impress people with your new found knowledge.

4. PLOT WORLD DOMINATION! THINK OF WAYS TO BETTER YOUR COMMUNITY! Does your town or neighborhood have a problem that’s been getting on your nerves? Do you think you have an idea that would make the world a little bit better? Act on it! Jot your ideas down. Find out what it would take to make them a reality. Then do it. World changing ideas and movements all came from a single thought. Why couldn’t yours be next?

That’s all I have for you today! Thank you for reading! What do you do on snow days or rainy days? Tell me in the comments below! Remember, I also have a Facebook page you can like for extras and to be kept up to date on new posts! Just hit the Facebook icon to find it. Hope you have a great day everyone. Love,
